The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) officially signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) in collaboration with the University of Exeter, UK (22/07). This signing marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration between the two institutions in the field of engineering. The signing ceremony took place at the University of Exeter campus and was attended by a number of high-ranking officials from both universities.
FTUI was represented by the Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., who was accompanied by the Manager of Cooperation, Ventures, and Alumni, Dr.-Ing. Dalhar Susanto and the Secretary of the Department of Civil Engineering, Andyka Kusuma, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. Meanwhile, the University of Exeter was represented by Prof. Voicu Ion Sucala, Chair in Engineering Management and Head of Engineering at the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy. Prof. Akbar Javadi, who is the Director of Global Engagement at the University of Exeter, was also present at the event.
In his remarks, Prof. Yanuar expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration. “We sincerely hope that this collaboration will open up new opportunities for our students and staff to be involved in various international research and projects. This is a big step in strengthening FTUI’s global network and improving the quality of our education and research,” he said.
Prof. Voicu Ion Sucala also gave his views on the importance of this collaboration. “The collaboration with FTUI will enrich our academic and research programs. We believe that the exchange of knowledge and experience with FTUI will provide great benefits for both parties,” he said.
The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, gave his comments about this collaboration. “The collaboration between FTUI and the University of Exeter is a strategic step that will bring many benefits to both institutions. With this collaboration, we hope to improve the quality of education and research through the exchange of science and technology, as well as expand international networks. I believe that this synergy will produce new innovations that can make a positive contribution to the development of engineering science in Indonesia and the UK,” he said.
With this collaboration, it is hoped that the two institutions can develop various education, research, and community service programs that are more innovative and have a wide impact. The signing of the LoI is an important milestone in the relationship between FTUI and the University of Exeter, and demonstrates the commitment of both universities in creating positive change through education and research.
