On Monday (19/8), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), especially the International Office unit (IO FTUI) received a visit from the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University (FT UNDIP). The visit was received in the Senate room, FTUI Dean Building by the Head of the Education, Planning and Supervision Modernization Unit, Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng., Head of the International Office, Fadhilah Muslim, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC, Cooperation, Ventures, and Alumni Manager, Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, and IO FTUI International Cooperation Coordinator, Siti Nurandini Winduningtyas.
Meanwhile, the delegation present was from FT UNDIP, Coordinator of FT UNDIP International Office, Mada Sophianingrum, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Coordinator of FT UNDIP Cooperation Unit, Dr. Eng Gunawan Dwi Haryadi, S.T., M.T., and education staff, Dani Ristyawati, S.S., Wenti Arum Widasari, S.T., and M. Rusmul Khandiq, S.I.P. The visit of the FT UNDIP delegation was carried out in the context of comparative study and learning from good practices in the management of the International Office and the FTUI Cooperation Unit.
“Our internationalization program has moved very well. We have served several foreign universities to be able to undergo programs at FTUI. In the future, we will try to strengthen its implementation. This is our responsibility to the stakeholders to provide the best service,” said Prof. Harinaldi in the introduction to the activity.
“Today we are bringing 2 units, namely the International Office and the Cooperation Unit, to learn from FTUI whose achievements have been extraordinary. We want to learn how FTUI manages the internationalization program as well as connected partners. We hope to get knowledge from FTUI, and also be able to collaborate in the future,” Mada continued his speech.
Through the discussion, the Head of the Education Modernization, Planning and Supervision Unit of FTUI said that the FT UI International Office was previously a division under the Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit (Modirpen) which was formed during the leadership of the elected Dean. In 2023, the internationalization division will become a separate unit from Modirpen and will be named the FTUI International Office. The establishment of the FTUI International Office considers the importance of academic reputation, both national and international, and in its development can also be a unit that contributes to the faculty.
The FTUI International Office performs its function to provide support and services for the management of FTUI International Special Classes (KKI), international cooperation and international mobility. KKI FTUI has been running since 1999 and began with 3 study programs and several partner universities in Australia, while KKI FT UNDIP was formed starting in 2018 with the aim of being an international exposure program. For the establishment of the KKI program, the study program must have superior accreditation and, until 2024, there are already 11 study programs in the FTUI undergraduate program that have organized the KKI program. One of the inputs provided by FTUI is to select partner universities with good ratings, or higher than university rankings, in order to help improve academic reputation and build trust in expanding other partner universities.
