Universitas Indonesia and Elsewedy Electric Indonesia Sign a Cooperation Agreement

Universitas Indonesia signed a cooperation agreement with Elswedy Electric Indonesia. This collaboration is established to bridge the world of education and industry. This activity was held on Monday (30/9) in the Smart Meeting Room, Dean Building, Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia.

UI was represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA, Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Assets who is also Acting Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, while Elsewedy Electric Indonesia was represented by Walid Tayel, Group Chief Human Resources Officer.

Elsewedy Electric Indonesia is a company that provides integrated infrastructure solutions. The company operates in five main business sectors: wire, cables & accessories, electrical products, engineering & construction, digital solutions, and infrastructure investment.

“This collaboration is a great opportunity for us because the University of Indonesia is one of the well-known campuses in Indonesia. We hope to find the best talents, especially prospective engineers who want to have a career in our company,” said Walid Tayel, expressing his respect to the audience in his opening remarks.

Prof. Dedi in his speech also said, “Today marks an important collaboration between the University of Indonesia and Elsewedy Electric Indonesia. This partnership reflects the strong relationship between academia and industry, and we are proud to work together to provide better career development opportunities for our students. The industry is growing rapidly, and through this collaboration, we aim to equip our students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the global marketplace.”

The signing of the cooperation was carried out by both parties represented by Prof. Dedi from the University of Indonesia and Walid Tayel from Elsewedy Electric Indonesia. Also accompanying him were Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration, John Barsoum, Sector Human Resources Director, and Ade Arief Tri Rachmanto, Head of Human Resources of PT Elsewedy Electric Indonesia.

Furthermore, the event was filled with presentations from several Elsewedy Electric representatives. Jana Elsewedy, Employer Branding Specialist of Elsewedy Electric Group, gave a presentation on Elsewedy Electric and GDP Program, Ade Arief Tri Rachmanto, explained about Elsewedy Electric Indonesia, and Sara Badawy, Group Instructional Design Senior Specialist of Elsewedy Electric Group, gave training material with the title Navigating Emotions.

On a separate occasion, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., Dean of FTUI, also expressed his gratitude to Elsewedy Electric Indonesia for the cooperation that has been established. “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all parties involved. Hopefully this event can inspire prospective engineers from FTUI to achieve their goals, and hopefully the collaboration between the University of Indonesia and Elsewedy Electric will continue. We look forward to this partnership continuing to grow, bringing mutual benefits to both of our institutions and, most importantly, to the students and alumni who are the future of our society.”
