Saturday, February 24, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) under the Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit (Modirpen) held the FTUI International Class Program Open House. The activity was held in order to provide a deeper picture of the International Class Program information within FTUI. This activity invited students, parents, and teachers from around 100 schools in the Jabodetabek area and was carried out offline in room K301 Building K FTUI.
This activity was opened with remarks from the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU. and also presented several speakers, namely the Head of the FTUI Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit, Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng., Head of FTUI International Office, Fadhilah Muslim, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC, and Head of PMB UI Office, Dr. Gunawan, S.T., M.T., and several FTUI alumni from the International Class Program.
At the opening of 286 visitors, Prof. Heri said, “The Faculty of Engineering UI is a pioneer for Double Degree programs in Indonesia. We have started since 1999. At that time FTUI collaborated with Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in the Electrical Engineering study program. And it doesn’t feel like now that FTUI has been organizing a Double Degree program for more than 20 years. And, our partners are growing, ranging from Monash University, University of Queensland and others. From this track record, FTUI has become the best engineering campus in Indonesia with an International Outlook score that beats other campuses.”
The presentation related to FTUI’s International Class Program was delivered by the Head of FTUI International Office, Fadhilah Muslim, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC. In his presentation, Fadhillah Muslim said, “We are very proud to be able to continue to oversee the International Class Program. At the beginning of this program, there was only 1 partner with less than 20 students. In 2024, we will have 10 partners with an admission quota of more than 400 students in this program. And now, we have 11 study programs for the International Class Program.”
The next session continued with a presentation on New Student Admissions by the Head of PMB UI Office, Dr. Gunawan, S.T., M.T. In his presentation, Gunawan said “UI has a quota of 934 for prospective International Class Program students from 33 study programs offered, with 410 quotas for the talent scouting selection path and 524 quotas for the SIMAK KKI selection path. FTUI itself offers 416 seats for the 11 FTUI International Special Class study programs available.”
The last session of the Open House was filled with discussions and questions and answers between participants and the three resource persons. In addition to presentations and question and answer sessions, the KKI FTUI 2024 Open House also invited four alumni as resource persons at the Talk Show session with alumni of the FTUI International Class Program and closed by the distribution of door prizes for the participants.
