The International Undergraduate Program in the Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) is a furtherance of high-quality education to produce engineering graduates with the ability to compete internationally by providing students with the opportunity to experience an international education at a relatively lower cost. Students will also benefit from global exposure to the diversity of cultures and languages and establishing international networking. Currently, FTUI holds two program schemes for international undergraduates, the double/joint degree and the single degree program scheme for eleven study programs.
The undergraduate international single degree program was launched in 2011 due to an increasing demand to provide an international quality education locally. Students in this program are not obligated to continue their last four semesters of study at one of our partner universities like their classmates who wish to pursue a double degree. However, students of single-degree programs are required to participate in a Study Abroad or Student Exchange program for a period between one to four semesters at an overseas university. The aims are to widen the students’ international perspective, to have experience to study in an overseas university, to enhance language capability, and to enhance cross-cultural adaptability.
Students will be awarded a bachelor’s degree from UI (Sarjana Teknik or Sarjana Arsitektur). Students in this program are required to spend at least one semester overseas under the scheme of student exchange in UI partner universities or fee-paying study abroad.
Students undertaking a double/joint degree program are awarded double bachelor’s degrees from both Universitas Indonesia and our partner university. Both degrees can be obtained within 3.5 – 4.5 years without additional study time. The double degree program is designed for students to complete the first 2 – 3 years at FTUI and the last 1 – 2 years at one of our partner universities.
