Integrated Biodiesel Teaching Factory

One of the main tasks of a university is to create appropriate technology from the results of research carried out into commercial products. UI always support programs intiated by the government under the coordination of the Ministry of Research, Technology and High Education (RISTEK DIKSTI). FTUI is supported by RISTEK DIKTI to create an Integrated Biodiesel Teaching Factory which started from concept preparation, detailed engineering design, procurement of laboratory equipment, procurement and construction engineering, market analysis for biodiesel products and other added value from biodiesel. This project is funded by RISTEK DIKTI through a multi-year scheme 2016-2019, with a contract no. 04/KONTRAK/PPK/F3-PT/F/III/2016.

The Integrated Biodiesel Teaching Plant has been designed to produce biodiesel with a capacity of 12 tons/day or about 4.000 tons/year. In addition, this factory will also produce derivative products including:

  1. H-fame, such as hydrogenated biodiesel that can be mixed with biodiesel fuel
  2. Plant-based ecofriendly diesel that has a chemical composition similar to other diesel fuels.
  3. Bio-grease and other additives for gasoline.
