FTUI received a visit from the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) on Monday, February 26, 2024 in the DGB Meeting Room, FTUI Dean Building. This academic visit aims to discuss cooperation documents and evaluate the implementation of the dual degree (DD) program between FTUI and UDE.
“Currently, FTUI and UDE are still in the process of finalizing the concept of managing cooperation agreement documents related to academic exchanges, because recently the Legal and Cooperation Unit provided input on the legal position,” said Ayomi Dita Rarasati, S.T. M.T., Ph.D., Head of the Civil Engineering Department.
This visit focused on discussing the format of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Agreement of Implementation (AOI) which will follow or adjust the UI format, the separation of AOI for academic exchange and DD, the signing of MOU and AOI, the scope of AOI DD, the date of ratification of AOI DD, and special discussions for S-1 Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering courses for study exchange.
Following up on this meeting, in the future Civil Engineering includes S-1 Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering for exchange, S-2 Environmental Engineering (with Water Engineering) for DD, and S-2 Civil Engineering with Water Engineering for DD. Meanwhile, Mechanical Engineering includes DD S-1 Mechanical Engineering and DD S-1 Shipping Engineering.
The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., said, “FTUI and the University of Duisburg-Essen have been collaborating for a long time, I hope that with this meeting, the cooperation between FTUI and UDE will be closer and can run better so that we can produce excellent students with an impact.”

Harinaldi, M.Eng., as Head of Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit, Fadhilah Muslim S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC, as Secretary of Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit Ayomi Dita Rarasati, S.T. M.T., Ph.D. as Head of Civil Engineering Department; Dr. -Ing. Mohammad Adhitya, S.T., M.Sc. as Vice Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Dr. Muhammad Salman., ST., M.IT. as Head of Computer Engineering Study Program; Dr. -Ing. Reza Miftahul Ulum, S.T., M.Sc. as a representative of the Department of Metallurgical and Material Engineering; Dr. Deni Ferdian, ST, M.Sc. as Head of the Department of Metallurgical and Material Engineering; M. Arif Budiyanto as representative of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; and Sucipta Laksono as a lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering.
Meanwhile, the delegation from UDE consisted of Prof. Dieter Schramm as Chair of Mechatronics, Prof. Dr. – Ing. Bettar Ould el Moctar as Head of the Institute for Ship Technology and Ocean Engineering, Prof. Dr. -Ing. Axel Hunger as Retired Professor of Computer Engineering UDE (Managing Director of Mercator Office), and Dita Adhitia and Okti Halimurti as Mercator Office representatives.
