FTUI Strengthens Cooperation with Universiti Malaya

On (26/02), the Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya, under the leadership of Prof. Sr Ts. Dr. Azlan Shah Ali, Dean of Faculty of Built Environment, made a collaborative visit to the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI). This visit aims to explore collaboration in education, research and grant cooperation programs between the two universities. The delegation was received by Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration of FTUI and his staff in the Dewan Guru Besar Room, Dekanat building of FTUI.

“If we look back before covid, actually FTUI and Universiti Malaya already had several track records of educational cooperation, so we hope that in the future these two institutions can continue new collaborations to strengthen the relationship between FTUI and Universiti Malaya,” said Prof. Sr Ts. Dr. Azlan Shah Ali who was also accompanied by Prof. Sr Ts. Syahrul Nizam Kamruzzaman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asrul Mahjuddin, and Norafida Ab Ghafar.

The opportunities for international cooperation that are the subject of discussion include educational cooperation in the scheme of single degree and double degree programs, joint Supervision for master and doctoral programs, International Short Course Program involving 10-20 students and lecturers, research collaboration and inviting lecturers of Universiti Malaya and FTUI as guest lecturers tailored to the needs of students and departments.

At the end of the discussion, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D, expressed his hope that the results of today’s discussion could facilitate the realization of the collaboration process until the signing of the MOU. “I hope that the outcome will bring us closer to reaching an agreement that is beneficial for all parties involved. Hopefully our hard work and collaboration today can be a solid foundation for the next process, until finally we can jointly sign an MOU that strengthens this partnership.”

On a separate occasion, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., said that this meeting is a concrete step in strengthening cooperation between FTUI and Universiti Malaya, which is expected to bring great benefits to both universities and give birth to a generation that is globally competitive and can contribute superiorly and have an impact on the Indonesian nation.”
